Summary In oil and gas geothermal well construction, a cementitious material is pumped in the wellbore to provide zonal isolation support casing during life cycle of well. Thus, barrier materials must be durable terms chemical mechanical properties have compatibility with pipe. The complex region casing-cement interface considered key parameter fulfill long-term isolation. This chemically stable impermeable block unwanted formation fluid communication. Shortcomings conventional Portland cement under operational conditions increasing sensitivity its carbon footprint are motivations for green alternative.
